The Annunaki, Nephilim and Fallen Angels are entities that are often discussed in various mythologies, religious texts and even conspiracy theories. While they are intertwined in some interpretations, they are distinct entities with unique characteristics that are often not only supernatural in nature, but also possess hyperbolised physical attributes that dwarf our own, such as strength, size and power. Like the Gods of the Greek Pantheon to the Ancient Greeks, characters like the Annunaki, Nephilim and Fallen Angels can be seen as a mirror to our own psychological, emotional and even spiritual traits, where often, despite being regarded as ‘above us’, they exhibit the same typical human responses, including compassion, jealousy, desire, love, curiosity, anxiety, creativity and hope. In today’s episode, we’ll be exploring each of these extraordinary creatures and determining what makes them what they are, and whether they’re more like us than we realise.

The Japanese Creation Myth.

In the mists of time, before the world as we know it took shape, there was a realm of chaos and serenity coexisting in delicate harmony. This was the realm of Takamagahara, where the gods known as kami resided. Among these divine beings was Izanagi, the Heavenly Male, and Izanami, the Earthly Female.

Izanagi and Izanami stood upon the Floating Bridge of Heaven, gazing down into the void below. They took a sacred spear and dipped it into the swirling chaos, and as they lifted it, droplets fell back into the abyss. These drops gave birth to the islands of Japan, transforming the emptiness into a land of beauty.
